Privacypolicy

Power and Smart Solutions SARL (“PASS”), based in Beirut, Lebanon, is responsible for the personal data described here. In the terms of Law No. 81/2018 on Electronic Transactions and Personal Data, PASS is the data processing officer.

This policy covers www.passlb.com and the enquiries people send us through it or by writing to our published email address. Personal data handled under a signed project, supply or maintenance agreement is governed by that agreement.

The contact form does not send anything to our servers. When you press “Open email draft”, it writes an email in your own email app, addressed to sales@passlb.com, and nothing leaves your device until you send it there. Writing to us directly works the same way.

What we receive

• Your name, email address and message.
• If you give them: your company, your phone number and the topic you chose.
• Anything else your email carries, such as a signature, attachments and the details your email provider adds.

Why

To read and answer your enquiry, and to prepare a proposal or quotation if you ask for one. We do not use it for other purposes.

What is required

Name, email and message are required, because we cannot reply without them. Leaving out your company, phone or topic has no consequence except that we may need to ask for them.

To see which pages are useful and how quickly they load, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights, provided by our hosting company, Vercel Inc. Neither uses cookies, and neither identifies you.

For each page view, Vercel records the page address, the site you came from, an approximate location worked out from your connection, and your browser, operating system and type of device. For speed measurements it also records your network type and how long the page took to load. To count visits, Vercel computes a code from the request itself; it is not stored permanently and is discarded after 24 hours. We see only totals.

Every request to passlb.com passes through the servers of our host, Vercel Inc. Delivering a page needs your IP address, and Vercel’s systems handle it together with the address requested, the time and your browser details, in order to deliver the site and protect it against abuse.

The site sets no cookies. It has no advertising, no social media pixels and no embedded content from other sites, and its fonts and scripts are served from passlb.com itself.

It uses your browser’s session storage, which is cleared when you close the tab, for two technical purposes only:

• remembering your scroll position when you return to a page;
• if a page fails to load just after we publish an update, reloading it once rather than repeatedly.

Neither identifies you, and nothing else reads them, so the site does not ask for cookie consent.

• The members of the PASS team who handle enquiries.
• Apple, which provides our mailbox through iCloud Mail, so enquiries are stored on Apple’s servers.
• Vercel Inc., which hosts the site and runs the statistics.
• Public authorities, where the law requires us to provide it.

We do not sell personal data.

Apple and Vercel are based in the United States and run data centres outside Lebanon. Enquiries in our mailbox, and the data Vercel handles to deliver the site and its statistics, are therefore held abroad, under those companies’ own security and privacy terms.

• Statistics: the code used to count visits is discarded after 24 hours. The totals we see do not identify anyone.
• Session storage: until you close the tab.

The site is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Law No. 81/2018 (Article 93) requires PASS to take measures suited to the data and the risks involved, to keep it intact and to protect it against alteration, damage and access by unauthorised people.

No transmission over the internet or storage system is completely secure. Please do not send sensitive personal data, such as health information, in an enquiry.

Under Law No. 81/2018 you can:

• ask whether we hold personal data about you and receive a copy, with its purposes, source and recipients (Article 99). The law allows a charge no higher than the cost of making the copy (Article 100);
• have data corrected, completed, updated or erased when it is wrong, incomplete, out of date or no longer needed. We do this free of charge within ten days, and tell anyone we passed the data to (Article 101);
• object, for legitimate reasons, to our processing of your data, including for commercial promotion (Article 92);
• take the matter to the competent courts, in particular the Magistrate of Summary Justice, if these rights are not respected (Article 102).

Your heirs can exercise the rights of access and correction too. To use any of them, write to sales@passlb.com from the address the request concerns, or tell us how we can confirm it is you.

The site has no newsletter or sign-up. Under Article 32 of Law No. 81/2018, PASS may send you marketing email only if you have agreed to it or we obtained your address through an earlier dealing with you, and every such email must give an address you can write to, free of charge, to stop them for good.

The site is written for businesses and is not aimed at children.

When the site or the way we handle data changes, we update this page and the date it takes effect. The version published here is the one that applies.
